Restaurant Gaby's - Puerto Vallarta

O ordered the comida Mexicana which is pretty much a sampler plate. My wife ordered chile relleno. The delicious tamale, chicken enchilada, and chile relleno made the meal. The mole was subpar in my opinion. I’m spoiled rotten when it comes to mole though as my mother in-law has ruined all moles for me haha. . We also ordered mango margaritas (they are made with the pulp not fresh ground fruit unfortunately). The patio was nice to sit at. The drinks were good and not weak. It’s a little pricey but we enjoyed our meal.

Not very friendly waiter and disappointing foods. I ordered deviled shrimp but it just tasted like shrimp cooked in ketchup and hot sauce. When I asked the waiter, he acknowledged that the secret recipe has ketchup in it. Ketchup is something I don 't expect as a secret ingredient at a traditional Mexican restaurant.

Food was okay but even if it was good, I’d stay away if you’re a tourist. We ordered sone food and margaritas. After taking our orders the waiter came back and asked me if I wanted my drink spicy and I said sure. However, when we got our bill it had 1 margarita for $140 and 1 premium margarita for $250. When I pointed it out, he said he asked me if I want spicy and for some reason that means they use different tequila. Not a huge amount of money but as a tourist I feel taken advantage of.

We had a great Mexican meal on the terrace earlier this week the Cinco de Mayo plate was a combo of yummy flavors and beautiful presentation: chile relleno stuffed with a delicious cheese, chicken with mole sauce, a tamale and an enchilada. For dessert...we tried the corn bread/cake and loved the fresh and flavorful dish, served with a small bowl of vanilla ice cream. To end the evening we tried the local liquor raicilla a cousin of tequila that's full of flavor and easy to sip. Thanks Chef Julio Cesar and everyone at Gaby's!

Incredible meal. Cooked table side. First Caesar Salad , best I’ve had in a very long time. Then a shrimp dish cooked table side. My waiter Caesar was fantastic. In PV don’t miss going to Gaby’s
