You also wonder if they are sanitary, if the food is good, etc. After spending copious amounts for fancy restaurants, we found our way here with some relief. We were the only customers at around 1:00 pm. I would like to report that our food was out of this world and that this is an exceptional find, but we didn’t have a full meal, so it is hard to say. They didn’t have guacamole on the menu, so we asked if they could make it. Of course they did. Who doesn’t make guacamole in Mexico? It didn’t stand out, but it was fine, and generous in portion. We asked for a bottle of sparkling water and noticed the server went down the street to buy one. I ordered a salad that listed a number of ingredients on the menu. It lacked most of them, being iceberg lettuce and covered with copious sliced mushrooms, which I don’t really like. So my salad was a bit disappointing. One thing that did stand out was the large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. I like to rate each restaurant within its own genre, but my experience of this kind of place is limited. I think maybe the whole point is that they are ordinary, is a good sense. Just regular food at very affordable prices served with appreciation. So should I give five stars for being supremely ordinary? How confusing. Ordinary is usually three stars, but the extra effort and the orange juice raise this to four stars. If you are tired of the crush of Old Town, this offers a break.
Great little hideout for a simple yet delicious breakfast. Great price for the amount of food and the service is super! Will definitely come again as they also serve lunch.
A perfect hole in the wall traditional Mexican breakfast eatery. Grandma cooking in back, young son being gracious to patrons. We even managed to get 5 at a table. Food was classic. Prices fair. Coffee was excellent.
So cheap and really tasty. Does cash and credit which is pretty rare we found. The ladies who run it are really sweet. Would suggest the chilquilles pollo
Great place to get affordable food and the chilaquiles are the best. A must try family small owned place.
