Przekaż informację zwrotnąBeen eating at this restaurant for about 4 years. I always have the spaghetti and one huge meatball with cheese in the center. You'll be hard pressed to finish this meal. Friendly service and decent prices. You can't go wrong here. We usually have leftovers, which we take with us and give to the older ladies that are looking for a handout, you know begging. They always are grateful.
The meals I have had here several times compare to the best food I get in Italy. The staff are friendly however not always the best organized but it is almost humorous and fun to be there. Try and I bet you will come back like we have several times .Really enjoy Tony Ortensia and Jiovanni.
Full disclosure: At home we have easy access to really outstanding Italian restaurants, so our expectations may have been too high for Funiculi. We picked it based on comments from some other travelers staying in the condo complex we were in, and on its location close to a theater where we had tickets for an 8 PM performance that night. Although we arrived at 6:30 PM and ordered our food right away, we waited over 45 minutes for the food to be served. We were the only four people in the restaurant. The portions were huge, but not especially flavorful. I'd recommend Boccon di Vino.
Good location, easy to walt to whole in the Romantic Zone - The food was good but a little too spendy for Italian food
My partner and I stumbled upon this place for dinner recently. We were looking for Italian food/pizza and this seemed to be the only restaurant in the area without a line during the dinner rush hour. That should have been our first clue. The wine and free 2 bite bruschetta appetizer were the only good things. We each ordered a pizza - I had the prosciutto with spinach pizza and my partner had the pepperoni pizza. I don't know how it is possible to mess up a pepperoni pizza but they did. On the one had it was greasy but on the other hand had no salt or flavour. The crust was so hard and dry it was like eating thick, dry crackers. The prosciutto pizza had so much cheese on it I had to pick it off but despite the heavy toppings it still somehow lacked flavour. Needless to say we will not be back, there are much better options in the area. I will say the atmosphere was nice, it is located on a quieter street and you can have nice conversation without too much noise.
