Madame Shanthe's - Puducherry

Good seaside rooftop ambience, average food, average service. This place has a potential to be a remarkable hub if they improve service and hospitality. Otherwise, it's a good place to eat at.

Had a most disappointing experience. After reading about the wonderful ambiance and the food provided by this cafe, me and my boyfriend were looking forward to having a memorable experience here which was ruined by rude staff who were completely negligent and most of all the price of a 60 bucks mrp beer was charged 250 bucks which was a total rip off. Not to mention that the bottles weren't open table side. They had opened the bottles and poured them in glasses somewhere inside before giving it to us. It was an absolutely disappointing experience. I wouldn't be recommending this place to anyone and I certainly would never return.

We should have read the reviews beforehand. As everyone rightly mentions, this place is not worth a penny. French onion soup was burnt onions with a lump of cheese. Chicken Stroganoff was not chicken Stroganoff. The Beef Steak in Wine sauce was horrible. The beef was old it was hard and rubbery we had to return it. Very disappointing.

Food is not up to the standard and price is too high compared to the food. Quality is also not that good. Decorations are okay apart from that nothing.

Service: 4 Prompt service, polite staff Ambience : 3 Meh. Food: 1 Just about edible. Would not recommend. Totally not worth the price you're paying.
