Recomendado 100
This is a great place to eat outside of the beaten track. Home cooked Portuguese food, with a friendly atmosphere and good value for money. The mother’s cooking and the rest of the family’s table service (especially Andreas) made it a memorable experience
We found this amazing restaurant by great luck. did our first day of Caminoh from Porto and stopped in Povoa de Varzim. we were very tired but hungry. came across this cute family restaurant because it was near our hotel. the food, the ambiance, the service were all great. We had 3 appetizers (the cod, the potato pockets with meat and the grilled peppers) delicious. then we tried the octupus and finished with the local desert (similar to a sugar donut) everything was delicious. the service was perfect! the owners son spoke great english and was very helpful. if you ever stop in Povoa De Varzim, i greatly recommend.
Our small hotel recommended O Tacho for great traditional Portuguese food. We speak French and English, and the owner /server spoke French. We were able to order some delicious cod prepared with fresh ingredients. Good wine, great value. There was only one other diner (we ate in the early side) , so the service was very attentive, without being overbearing . Highly recommend
