Theatro - Póvoa de Varzim

Estou numa viagem com a escola para Portugal no âmbito do programa Erasmus+ e com os nossos professores fomos a este restaurante que é muito elegante, com uma cozinha aberta onde se podem ver os chefs a cozinhar. O mapa está disponível em código QR, então tudo no celular, o que é muito prático. A apresentação dos pratos é simplesmente de tirar o fôlego

So, we just got back to the hotel from Theatro. What a delightful experience in so many ways. Set in the city's restored old theatre, Theatro has a very clean, functional and industrial, amost Skandi vibe the esthetics are natural, textural, minimal, airy, and uncluttered. The setting is a single large hall with white painted brickwork and a high ceiling with bare beams. Niiiice! The first thing that meets your eye is that the restaurant's storefront is a bookshop with bookshelves surrounding and threading through, and a book on every restaurant table... with a minimalistic and elegant table setting to match. Again... niiiice! This is not a Portugese restaurant foodwise, it is international. Everything on the menu looked delicious and select. We went with a delicious white wine Sangria, the Black Angus Beef Wellington (never easy to get quite right, but they did) and shredded Pork Cheeks excellent attention to raw materials, vary well prepared and arranged, and very tasty... oh my! Our desserts were an extremely rich chocolate mousse (joyous death by chocolate, that) with salted peanuts and one of the three best Lemon Merengue tarts/pies I have ever tasted. Compared to the quality of the experience and the food we found the bill more than reasonable. Our very high recommandations.

A Warm welcome… a lunch consisting of delicate dishes and suprising by their composition . very nice wine list with a wide assortment of wines from European vineyards and a rich range of champagne everything you need for the success of a pleasant meal served by a team that listens to us we will come back without hesitation highly recommend

This is one of the best meals I have EVER had. Service, food and atmosphere are truly the best in every way. Professional, knowledge staff who were genuine and caring. The owner Edwardo was delightful and SO friendly. This was a stand out meal and one everyone needs to experience. Just wonderful thank you.
