I absolutely love this place. The food has always been to die for, if your palette can handle the extremes in flavour. Some might say too salty, too sweet, too spicy or too sour, but I find it all delicious beyond description. Evenings of live music from the fantastic regular band adds to the atmosphere and ambience. They truly are unappreciated but mesmerizing to watch. I get a pleasant smile every time I'm there and service has always been beyond reproach. A definite recommendation for anyone wanting a truly authentic Thai dining experience.
As we stayed near by, we passed here a couple of times a day, it was always busy, from buisness types for lunch to all sorts in the evening. Food was excellent standard and very reasonably priced. Enjoyed the food so much, ate here 3 times in a 7 night stay in sydney.
The staff at Crocodile Senior Thai, located behind Charlie Chan's bar, were quite rude. They served us with no friendly greeting or smile. Despite ordering some delicious and affordable $4.95 noodle soups, I was not pleased with the customer service. As we were finishing our meal and chatting happily with friends, one of the staff abruptly asked us to leave in a rude manner. We had ordered a total of 6 bowls of soup and paid for both the food and service, so it was surprising to be kicked out. I was very disappointed with the service provided by the Thai staff and do not plan on returning. The food was decent, but the service was very poor. Overall, my experience was average at best due to the unpleasant interactions with the staff at this restaurant.
I purchased a voucher for a 5-course banquet for two with wine. The portions were disappointingly small - one small money bag for the first course, a tiny spring roll for the second course, a small bowl of rice for two for the third course, a small salad for two for the fourth course, and a small and lukewarm main dish for each of us for the fifth course. Would we go back? Never. If you do decide to go, I recommend skipping the voucher and opting for the lunch special instead - it's cheaper and you get much more food.
