I tried this place twice to give it a fair chance, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The first time I had the jackfruit pulled pork sandwich which had a lot of flavor, but the liquid smoke was quite noticeable above anything else. It left too much of that taste in my mouth. The second time I tried the chicken and waffle sandwich. I was prompt in picking up my order, but even after my 5 min drive home, the sandwich was super soggy and unappealing. I paid a lot for it, so I tried to eat what I could as not to waste it. Their “chicken” is made from oyster mushrooms which is a cool take on meat replacement, but the breading was soggy and not crispy like you’d expect “chicken” to be. The waffles were also spongy and tough (I think because you can only get them GF) and the whole sandwich fell apart while I ate it. I got peach cobbler too because I wanted something sweet, but I took two bites and couldn’t eat the rest. It was a texture thing again, not really appealing. Both times I got the banana fries and they were good. Just know that an order of them is about 6-8 fries only.
I was so happy to find a really healthy vegan restaurant and not just a restaurant that had some vegan or vegetarian options. Great place to go back to!
But wait is long and prices are high. I tried to wrap the box and waffle sandwich, rice and beans, bananaries and a smoothie. I love them trying to make a difference in the community they serve. Next, I want to try out the new bar they opened next door. It's completely alcohol-free, which I've never seen before.
Absolutely one of our favorites bar none. The staff is excellent. Would there be more stars if we could.
