The Moorings were very nice accommodations. I found it by looking up places to stay for the Skellig Michael landing tour. The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly, breakfast is included. At first, we were a bit confused about parking. It 's basically park anywhere you want in town, except not in the double yellow line or in the car park that says No overnight parking. I parked in a car park across the street near the boats. It was perfect. One thing is the circuits must 've gotten overloaded because when I turned on the lights in the bathroom, the TV and the bedroom lights turned off. They also flickered a lot. If I were to come back to the area, I would stay here again. They also have their own boat to Skellig Michael. We didn 't use theirs, but it 's on option on their website.
Stayed one night on trip to Kerry Coast. Julie/Julia was wonderful at check-in and at Dinner service at Bridge Bar. She does it all. We had a water view room with an awesome bed. Dinner at bar was best seafood on trip to Ireland. I had mussels and the special sea scallops. My only regret -not staying longer -definitely would stay again.
Interesting bar and restaurant in a small harbor town. Food was okay. Worth a stop if driving through
I give 2 stars not for the food. I ordered the Fish and Chips. The chips were just ok. The fish was very good EXCEPT for the fact that the kitchen clearly made the decision to take a large fish, bread it, fry it and then cut it into three pieces and serve to three people so the portion was the size of a deck of cards with the white flesh of the fish sticking out of one side where it had been divided. We were with a tour group on a scheduled lunch stop and this seemed to me that the restaurant was cutting corners for the large group. It was an unsatisfactory meal. This is not how fish and chips is done.
