Teardrop Lounge - Portland

The ambience is fantastic, but unfortunately, you have to shout at the top of your lungs just to place an order, and they still can't hear you, which means you'll end up repeating yourself. Good luck if you have a question! It's impossible to hear any of your friends at the table, and we eventually gave up trying to have a conversation. It was incredibly frustrating to be told, "We don't control the music." What? Who does then? Even if they turned it down by 20, it would still be too loud. The atmosphere is really stressful, and it doesn't make for an enjoyable experience. This has been a consistent issue every time I come here, and others have mentioned it too; they all share the same sentiment.

Absolutely fantastic cocktail bar! I had a wonderful time here! The ambiance was delightful, and the staff was incredibly friendly and engaging. They really know their cocktails; as someone who enjoys vodka, I can say every drink was delicious. I tried the House of Balloons, Cosmopolitan, Belvedere, and the bartender's choice, and they were all excellent. The charcuterie board was also delicious, and I love pairing it with cocktails. Cheers to everyone! I highly recommend trying the Army Navy, a shot of Green Chartreuse, the Clover Club, and the Heat Wave.

This place truly excels in cocktails, no doubt about it! They offer a wide selection of drinks, and the bartenders clearly know what they're doing. I recommend dressing nicely for your visit, as the crowd tends to be quite stylish—think along the lines of Portland hipsters. It's a fantastic spot for a date or to meet new friends. We didn't try the food, so I can't speak to that, but I did notice the menu looked somewhat limited. I'll definitely return to enjoy their cocktails and soak in the atmosphere.

Teardrop Lounge remains as excellent in 2022 as it was before the pandemic. It’s likely my favorite cocktail bar in the world (with the possible exception of the Jefferson in Auckland, NZ), and it's definitely worth a visit. Be sure to try the pickled deviled eggs—they are the absolute best! If you don't drink alcohol, they also offer fantastic mocktails. Although the food menu is brief, it is impressive and quite accommodating for those who are gluten-free.
