Taqueria Nueve - Portland

The service was quite slow, as it took a considerable amount of time to receive both our food and a second drink. The Carne Asada resembled dog kibble, chopped into tiny, dime-sized pieces. Additionally, the chairs were extremely uncomfortable and made a lot of noise when moved across the floor. On a positive note, the T9 Margarita was decent.

We started off with chips and guacamole, served with three different local salsas, all of which were delicious. For my meal, I had a Barbacoa taco and a Calabacitas taco filled with roasted spaghetti squash, both of which were fantastic! To drink, I had a pineapple margarita made with house-infused chili tequila, and I also tried "El Jefe," their take on a Cadillac margarita. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable, and my friend sampled several of the Mezcal selections available. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The tacos were incredibly delicious, but there was a long wait to be seated. The taco meat was tender and flavorful.

We have been many times and always enjoy our selves. Great cocktails and elevated Mexican food. Get anything with the brisket. The mole negro emalotas are fantastic.

Fantastic Happy hour! And truly a delicious margaritas! There are 150+ mezcal's on the menu! Head in and have yummy eats of things like guacamole and fresh made chips, beet salad with habanero crema, and delicious tacos on happy hour.
