Smallwares - Portland

Decent place. The food I had was good. The tequila drink was decent. Not strong. Mostly tasted like the hibiscus tea that was in it. One weird thing about the drink is that they used worm salt on the garnish orange.

If you ever went to the original small wares off fremont, you'll be happy to know a smaller spot is now open with their fantastic fried kale (the only kale I ever eat on purpose is here). EVERYTHING is great here, which makes it difficult to order but luckily the small plates almost allow you to order most of what you want.

Excellent small plates and family-style international fusion food. Waitress provided excellent service. Would go back.

We had an outstanding meal accompanied by excellent service. Most of the dishes were incredible, and when there was one item we didn’t enjoy, they promptly took it back with a smile. Smallwares primarily offers small plates meant for sharing, each bursting with flavor. Just a heads up: the chef is quite fond of cilantro, so if you're not a fan of this herb, you might want to choose your dishes carefully.
