Royal Panda - Portland

Had the salt and pepper calamari, loved the flavor, but it was tough. I've eaten there numerous times before, food is great and so is the service. I'll go back again.

It was nasty. Gelatos mess. The beef was unrecognizable. I took one bite and threw it in the trash. I have a high tolerance for crappy food and I wouldn't even take a second bite. Waste of money.

I ordered kung pow chicken, expecting a nice plate of veggies, chicken, and spicy sauce. It was awful! I got stringy chewy dried out chicken in some type of BBQ sauce with a few peanuts buried underneath. The waitress asked me if it was okay and I said no, I thought it would have veggies. It's not very good. She argued back it was their most popular dish but admitted it's not like other places. I would have thought she would have offered to add some vegetables or a discount since I did not eat it, but she did not. Instead she ignored me the rest of our visit and only addressed my husband. The worst dining experience I have ever had, and I left hungry and frustrated. I will tell everyone not to go there, and if you do, DON'T order string dry kung pow chicken.

The owners are very nice. I think the flavor of the food was good! I like how they seasoned the broccoli it might have had a sweet and sour sauce on it. That was really good. I think some of the meat tasted slightly stale but others tasted good! The fortune cookie we had was almost stale tasting. I think overall the food was middle of the road OK and I would and probably will come back but would like to see the food keeping it fresh and with more peas and carrots and vegetables in the mix of the food. I say give them a try if you want some of this style of food!
