While waiting for the shanghai tunnel tour to begin, I found the personal, service and eating in hobo’s just wonderful. we have in the time for happy hour and we ordered slides, pizza and a cork dish. the mushroom dish was so good that my daughter didn't even share with us all. all that loved for under 20.00 the place will go back the next time when I am in portland
We made the shanghai underground tour and it was great. very educational and interesting. it is amazing that portland built its current city over the old and tried to bury it and pretend it never happened. we learned such an amazing and rich history of the city in their early days and how rough and creepy it was really. if they are ever in portland, I recommend to them take the time to experience this tour. I have pictures, but I can't post them or use them without permission of the shanghai underground tour people.
I'm always pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here. I had their beef Wellington, which I hadn't had in years, and it was delicious. But the real treat here is the ambiance of the place. From the music from the piano to the warmth of the fireplace, there are few bars like this left. I am so glad we still have this one!
It's a decent joint for a beer. Only pedestrian cocktails. Good base liquor but the mixers are hit and miss. I didn't try their food so I won't comment on that. The most notable feature is that it's where the Portland Underground tour starts.
