I adore the quirky and rustic wooden interior, as well as the laid-back, communal table atmosphere of this restaurant. The pasta dishes, priced at 10 or 12 dollars, are delicious as well.
The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed delicious bowls of fresh pasta, along with great service, local beer, and live music.
My spouse and I have eaten in and taken out from The Noodle Guy many times during the last several years. Overall, everything is excellent. The ambience, in a well preserved heritage building, is especially appealing. The location is handy, in Port Williams a short distance north of Hwy 101, directly beside Hwy 358 (immediately north of the river). The meals are prepared fresh from local ingredients by the owner-chef and his crew. We are vegetarians, so our favourites are Soba Noodles, spicy (these are adjusted to the customers' taste), and Cheese Ravioli with onions (made with Quark cheese from the local Fox Hill Cheese House—another great place to visit). An added bonus (in terms of atmosphere) is that the owner makes the point of paying a living wage to all his staff. Yet prices are extremely reasonable.
We were impressed by the Trip Advisor reviews, so we stopped here for an early dinner. With a name like "the Noodle Guy" we expected the pasta to be great. I had the shells with meat sauce, the shells were too thick and did not appear to be home made.
