The Pantry Shelf - Port Perry

This cafe is a fantastic spot to take a break, unwind, and indulge in a cup of tea with a tea biscuit or a butter tart - both of which are absolutely delicious! My daughter adores this cafe.

A sensible breakfast bite before touring the Port Perry shopping strip. Wonderful fresh welcoming atmosphere with good coffee and music to soothe the savages off the memories of the day before. A freshly baked scone with Whole cranberries and a dobble of jam. Everyone willing to please. A delight. Thank You and go taste for yourself.

Certainly my favourite place to have a great lunch, get it to go and walk across street to park on the shores of Lake Scugog. Port Perry Rocks !

Delicious soups, crisp fresh salads, quiche specials and amazing butter tarts. everything a tea room should be. Friendly service, beautiful bistro decor right down to the new larger windows and awnings. The owner brought this lovely spot to Port Perry many years ago and continues to refresh the decor and tweak the menu. A consistent gem.

I was here with my family about a year ago. We tried the sandwiches and took home a healthy sample of sweets and savory pies. The butter tarts were great before, so I came back for more. As many have noted including myself, service in this place is really indifferent. It is joyless, bordering on indifferent.The food: Last time out, one person felt off after our lunch, but as noted the sweets were good. The savory pies were only average.This time: Service was painful. Staff looked at us and looked away or kept doing whatever they were doing. It was even too difficult to take our cash.What needs to be updated: Cash or debit only.Overall: This review was downgraded from the last one of average. Not worth your time for consistent below average service. Even their sweets such as butter tarts are sold everywhere in town. Some for less. When service is belligerent, you owe it to yourself to choose another place to spend your hard earned money.
