It was about normal price for the size that we would find down island, but we didn't have to wait as long to get it. One could even order a "gluten free" pizza with no problem, although it was only a 8 inch. Steve has been sick lately and now has the business up for sale. It's going to be a sad day when he does sell it....just hope that the new owners can keep up the good work.
We enjoyed 3 nights at the black bear resort in August. It was clean and the beds were comfy. I liked that the cost included a continental breakfast. I thought that the breakfast should open earlier than 7 on weekends as some tours left earlier than this. No milk in the rooms but maybe this is just an Aussie thing, not sure. Overall a good place to stay.
As others say, the pizzas here may be a bit expensive but the quality is excellent. Very well-prepared and cooked. Leftovers were a great treat for the next day. It takes 1/2 hr on a slow Sunday evening so order ahead if you can (unless you are staying nearby).
This is the best thick crust pizza I have ever had! The delivery service is friendly and the prices are reasonable, especially for the North Island.
As others have commented maybe a little pricey but they use all fresh ingredients and the pizza is very tasty. Lots of unusual combinations. So the price is well worth it.
