Gaspy’s Cafeteria - Port Charlotte

First time to this restaurant- very friendly gentleman at the counter! Had a spinach empanada and the Cuban sandwich both of which were very good. We’re not experienced with Cuban foods but found what we ate to be very clean and not greasy at all. Walked away content and feeling healthy- thanks much!

I had great food here, wish it stayed open for dinner too, I believe it closes at 6:00. The empanadas were wonderful had 3, spinach, beef and ham and cheese) as was the Cuban sandwich. The dessert was very good as well. The owner was so nice and helpful. I really felt like family here. Felix sent us home with two cherry pastries which we devoured later that night. How nice for him to give us a take home dessert. We expect to be back next week. Loved the place and the service.

This place was so amazing! The food is incredible and the lovely people running it make you feel like they are welcoming you into their home. While we waited for our order, we got to try a new recipe (fried squash with the most amazing sauce ever). Highly recommend!

We happened to show up for a late lunch, when the owners had just gotten a chance to relax for a few minutes after lunch rush and clean up was done. Maria and Felix hopped right up to greet our family and get to know us a bit while we made our food choices for the meal. The atmosphere is nice, very clean, airy and coastal. The food was great, our choices included a pressed cuban sandwich, ham croquettes, beef empanadas and mojito chicken with black beans and rice. Everything was great!! We were offered a guava pastry to try for free at the end of the meal (if you like guava, don't hesitate, you'll be in pastry heaven). We finished off with perfectly prepared cuban espresso. We will definitely be back...Thanks Maria and Felix for making us feel not only welcome but very wanted!

Don’t miss out on this gem! It’s the perfect spot for coffee and Cuban snacks, and it pleasantly surprised us. They serve the cortadito and café con leche we were hoping to find. I highly recommend trying the cheese sticks! The owner, Felix, was even generous enough to prepare breakfast sandwiches for us with their delicious Cuban bread. Make sure to stop by the next time you’re in the area!
