Valverde Bistro - Ponta Delgada

I spent two weeks on the Azores on various islands and the food in Valverde was by far my favourite. The menu was great from start to finish, waiter was knowledgeable and we loved everything recommended. The live jazz band was the perfect touch. I'd say try as many dishes as you can. Portions were not huge, but I felt completely satisfied after an app and dessert along with the meal. We had a reservation even though we saw a few people waiting a bit for a table.

Our meal here was really delicious I couldn't stop talking about it for DAYS after. The Ravioli was handmade and perfectly prepared. The duck was delicious through and through and the accompanying vegetables were incredible. The chocolate cake was the cherry upstairs. Unlike almost any other place where we went, Valverde served real portion sizes that allowed us to fit all three courses with ease. The wine pairing was excellent and the staff was friendly and well known.

Incredible place! Small but cosy! Such a nice ambiance and great staff. The food is delicious. Good prices. Well recommended for dinner, but be sure to book a table so you don't miss out on the experience.
