However, this can be misleading for those expecting a high quality experience. Unfortunately, De L'Orient was just average. The strong smell of egg throughout the restaurant was off-putting, except for the beer. The Wanton Soup is usually a good indicator of a quality Chinese meal, but this one was very disappointing with chewy strings. We tried the Beef with Thai Basil and House noodles (which we asked for without egg but still came with egg, and continued to smell strongly of egg). The food was decent, but not deserving of a 4-star rating - more like a 2.5-star experience.
The service is deplorable. Ma'am didn't want to let me pass so I had to order from outside the restaurant. After she didn't want to accept payment by card so I had to pay in cash. I wanted to buy a drink but she told me that there were no drinks and finally after I got my plate that it was to take I asked for a fork and she told me that there were no available forks. Service deplorable average food. I really don't recommend this restaurant.
I recommend it have been a client for over 20 years
I often find that restaurants with full menus are a rip-off - they're usually too large and too pricey. However, this was not the case here. They offer several different menus that are great value. We ordered one menu, one main course, and half a liter of wine, which more than satisfied both of us. The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our bill came to just 55€, which was a fantastic deal for the quality of the meal. Plus, the restaurant was heated to a comfortable 19º C, which seems to be the new standard.
Correct kitchen but big billing error and no ticket to claim later.
