We had a large in our water, the salmon was over boiled and dry, and the lobster mac and cheese was best disappointed in the average.
Great meal great staff great atmosphere decent price
We made reservations two days previous to our time, I understand itâs summer at the Jersey shore, and 7:30 is a prime seating time, but putting us next to the door/hallway, under an air vent , not so good. Especially when there were open tables next to the windows , or middle room, which had great views. The menu was very limited, which was surprising. All our meals were luke warm, again surprising. Our waitress was sweet, but seemed unsure about everything, Iâm thinking she was new, not surprised, every facility is short on staffing. We didnât order dessert or coffee, because we felt we could purchase both outside at a different venue where we could appreciate a better view. We brought our son and daughter in law here for a special dinner, as they are here from Germany. Weâve eaten here numerous times, although not since COVID. Special it was not, mediocre yes.
Surprised to find the dining room less than 1/2 full when arriving at 7:45. Had made reservations for 6, but could have walked in and been seated immediately. Strange, as all the other local restaurants had long lines waiting outside on this Thursday evening. As expected, the dining room's 180 degree view of the river/inlet as the sun set was amazing. The menu seemed limited, and some of our party had difficulty finding an entree that looked promising. No scallops at all! However our waitress was able to answer and accommodate many special requests. Some of the food was under seasoned (the crab bisque, disappointing as this is a Lobster Shanty signature) and some heavy-handed (the lemon risotto clam chowder) The seafood itself, such as shrimp, salmon and fluke, were done well. The hit of the evening was the breadbasket fritters.
