Small Cafe B And B - Pittsboro

After living here for almost two years, I finally stopped by for the first time and I am sure glad I did. I had passed by this hidden gem many times, but I didn't realize how wonderful it would turn out to be. The location is convenient, with parking, which I did not expect. There is ample outdoor seating, natural shade under the trees, and a wonderful indoor area. The employee who served me was kind, attentive, and knew her trade very well. There's only one thing to try for a real test of a cafe. I got simple scrambled eggs with vegetables, bacon, toast, their (apparently famous) smashed potatoes, and a (bottomless) black coffee. I was surprised and impressed. Simple, delicious fare done right. In particular, I am picky about my coffee and this definitely did the job--the bottomless option was appreciated too. I came to eat and to work, and both tasks were successful. The place is vibrant, with great music and lively conversation. There was a clear mix of first-timers and regulars. The prices were very fair. I regret not coming here sooner. I have a feeling this is going to become a regular spot. It seems I have found another gem of Pittsboro and I'm proud to have this establishment in our community. Kudos to the owners and employees of Small Cafe!

Wife and I just had breakfast or brunch and it's our favorite breakfast place in the triangle area. It's quality it's kewl and love the staff and new owners. Everyone that likes quality food should try this place. I do the farm scramble w veggies turkey sausage smashed potatoes and sourdough bread.wife loves grilled cheese on sourdough also best coffee in historic Pittsboro.

My first lunch at Small Cafe was delicious, so several months later, I wanted to try the breakfast. The place was crowded on Sunday when I ordered eggs and bacon; however, I quickly found an open table outside. It was 12:10. I waited quite a while, as did the family of 7 who sat down several minutes after I did. When their large order arrived at 12:55 and I still did not have my food, I inquired about my order. I was told the family ordered before I did and mine would be coming soon. I had run out of time and went back inside for my refund. Rather than an apology, I received a cool reception and was given a refund, along with an explanation that they had been 'slammed ' by large orders. The food is delicious here, but they are not set up to handle large orders or large numbers of orders.

Delicious food at a great eclectic place. Service a little slow, but worth the wait.

I never would have found this place in the RV. There is a TrueValue up the road less than 100yds. They let you park for an hour during business hours. This place has a great breakfast!
