Shokudo - Piscataway

We were just passing through and had a strong craving for ramen. I searched for 'ramen' nearby, and several options showed up. After reading a few reviews, we decided to try this place. It was an excellent choice! The broth, noodles, and toppings were all expertly prepared.

I was a regular at Kanji, so I was really disappointed when it closed. I decided to try Shokudo, but it just doesn't compare. Kanji was far better in every way. The only decent things about Shokudo were the water and the cat that played with my chopsticks. I won’t be returning, and I can only hope that Kanji makes a comeback. The broth in my ramen tasted more like wonton soup instead of the rich pork broth that Kanji offered.

This restaurant is a true hidden treasure. The service was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was just right—complete with a little lumbar pillow for added comfort! The steamed gyoza were quick to arrive and absolutely delicious, and the ramen was spot on! I found myself walking with a spring in my step as I returned to work from my lunch break. Hahaha, I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

The 1st visit at Shokudo.There's plenty of parking available. The place is sparkling clean and adorned with authentic Japanese interior and fancy k-pop. A tiny cat (not real... on the table greeted me with its cutest tail.The combination of Pork Gyoza Tonkotsu Ramen with a hardboiled egg was just perfect. I was surprised by the depth of the broth and the physical depth of the bowl.The owner was super friendly, always wearing a smile, and provided dedicated service.After a tiring day, I was searching for a place to find solace through food. I stumbled upon the right place at the right time. It made me realize that great food accompanied by excellent service can be truly healing.If you get a chance to visit Shokudo, please ask the owner about the secret behind the depth of the broth.Thanks a lot, Shokudo! Very cosy place, the personnel is very charming. The food there is also very good! I like it!
