Pine Crest Inn - Pinehurst

We had a reservation on a Saturday evening. For most of the time we were dining, we were the only customers. I’m sure this was influenced by the current Coronavirus panic, but suspect it was also because word has gotten around about a drop off in the dining experience here. There were of us. Two of us got steaks. It appears they were cooked with the sous vide method which results in a very bland taste. Mine was also slightly undercooked. A companion got the traditional pork chop and thought it was good. They have eliminated the traditional “relish tray” which was greatly missed by our party. Service was excellent — but then again our server only had one table to take care of

We have dined here many times, but was disappointed all around this time. Instead of excellent ratings in all areas, could only rate this average experience

From the moment you walk through the door you feel the warmth and charm of days in history. As you are seated at an elegantly set table you feel special yet very comfortable. From omelets made with your favorite ingredients to the fluffy waffles and tasty muffins, I highly recommend this Sunday morning buffet for everyone to enjoy
