It is small, very intimate. Almost a 50-sh feeling. Service is very friendly. The food was good, the pasta I had is certainly worth returning for. Bathroom is fun to see, but might not be the easiest to use for larger people. It is most certainly clean. Just a point, friendly staff, good food and clean bathrooms on a day when Perugia holds its chocolate party...
The relatively small space, the warm service by host Aldo, and the home-like cooking of his Massima make this Locanda into a nice alternative for touristic, crowded and/or noisy places. My wife and I tried it out for lunch and then spent an delightful evening there with a group of ten friends. Warmly recommended!
The staff were great and very friendly. The antipasto was outstanding with more than I could eat.. cheeses( pecorino) and another; various carne e salumi..... and the umbricellici with tartuffi? I have never tasted pasta like it- the wine was a nice house wine and the meal was 30Eur. I suspect a markup for tourists but who doesnt? That taste was something else and I will be returning and I certainly recommend this place to anyone; plus it is also around the corner from my apartment!
I love this osteria and eat here regularly: they serve local fresh home made food which is consistently superb and very typical of Umbria and Perugian cooking. It's great value the staff are friendly and helpful: it is the kind of place you can go in, not look at the menu and just ask for the chef to bring out whatever they recommend for that day. Highly recommended.
Mediocre food which was made worse by the waiter leaving it to go cold at the kitchen pass in full view. I nearly got up and fetched it myself. I had ordered a glass of prosecco for aperitivo but they dont have it for some reason, just like they dont have *ice* (to go with a Fernet Branca digestivo). Service was slow and the attitude and body language suggest they have given up. With so many good restaurants in Perugia I think this place can only stay open by snaring the occasional unaware tourist which is why I leave this review...
