Hokka Hokka - Parramatta

Always decent Chinese food at Hokka Hokka. Food court Chinese food is always a worry as they usually serve food which is old at a heavily reduced price. This is not the case at Hokka Hokka. Fresh food served every time!

Fast Chinese.. I love myself some quick dirty Chinese food and Hokka Hokka is exactly that. 2 choices and noodles for $13.90, isn't the cheapest but it's fair as the serving was quite large. I had the egg noodles, spicy honey chicken, and yakiniku beef. The noodles were surprisingly good. Spicy honey chicken sounded interesting but it was very good. The yakiniku beef was a bit too gelatine-y, probably from all the corn starch.

Feeling under the weather makes us keen to try their clear soup noodle. Chose the spinach noodle plus Wonton, BBQ Pork, Choy Sum and Bok Choy. The food came out in about five minutes or so, I quickly garnish it with fried shallots, sliced chili and sprinkle some home made chili sauce. The result is what you would normally expect from a fast food chain.The wonton is too dry to my liking so is the BBQ pork. The noodle, veggies and clear soup are the saviour of the day. An experience I don't mind having. Bottom line: Good food. Good service. Good value.

I had the two choices with rice for $12.90. It was a pretty decent assortment of choice at the counter. Often you just have steamed rice or fried rice as the side but at Hokka Hokka you can also get stir fried noodles and my favourite Korean noodle - japchae which are sweet potato noodles. I prefer mine with more sauce though and a lot hotter but apart from that, this was pretty decent for take-away. I got a side of spicy honey chicken and yakiniku beef which was smothered is a delicious sauce. I don't normally like beef but this was actually really nice and didn't have that usual overbearing beef flavour.
