The White Elephant - Parksville

I ordered the pad thai and green Papaya salad. I threw both away after a few bites. the pad thai was a soggy chaos of noodles together, with pear sprouts and gummy huh. the Papaya salad was full or carrot, old tomaten and missing papaya. incredible!

Great take-away! I wanted something light for supper, so I ordered the Shrimp Salad roll with peanut sauce. The service was quick, and the salad rolls were delicious! During the Canada day parade, a couple of days previously, menus were handed out, so I decided to try their fare! Good choice!

1. it is NEVER OPEN 2. The food is NOT that good, way to much sugar and the curry is weak 3. They are very hard to follow The website is NOT reflecting open times 4. The open times are a Joke 5. Anyone watching this place has to ask why they are never there? 2 years of NOT being open, two years of taking up good space that could go to a place that will provide good food to our community. We need place that are open not this type.

It is small restaurant, however their curry was excellent, and the mango salad also very tasty. The curry was very flavorful, we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was also very good and very friendly. It was a pleasant surprise to find such good food in Parksville.

We have lived in Parksville for about a year and we’ve tried most of the restaurants. The white elephant is our new favorite. Every dish we’ve tried has been fantastic.
