Missy K - Paddington

Missy K used to be in a tiny place in Flinders Street Surry Hills, but has moved up to a bigger site next to the Captain Cook hotel. The food is consistently very good, and my wife loves the veggie dumplings. Did I mention dumplings?...The place is locally famous for them. Kung Pao chicken, and the most wonderful kingfish curry wow, the food is just great. A very reasonably priced Semillon a and we were away! Highly recommended.

We came here for a friends birthday and it was the first time I had been. I have always wanted to try this place and I will certainly return and recommend to others. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience of...the place was buzzing. It is also BYO wine, so make sure you take advantage of that.

I have eaten food at and from this restaurant for at least 4 years. They were a constant about once a week for our takeaway night. Then they moved from near our home, happily only a few blocks further away, and happily still easy to...have the delivery option. Then they started to go down hill a little, the takeaway delivery option changed from them doing their own to outsourcing to a delivery company. I am assuming it became too expensive for them or easier to outsource. Then one night we tried to get takeaway and found the delivery button is still, and still to this day on their website, but it does not go anywhere. We phoned them and mostly got a message, not even a personalised message from the restaurant, Just one the phone companies do. So you don't know if you have reached the correct number. I tried a number of times and finally did get one of the girls, and she took my order. but I have noticed since the same thing, more than often the answer phone switches on as they are too busy, which is fine, but maybe they need to consider putting a message on to let you know you have reached the correct number. After work I went in to buy takeaway, I firstly tried to ring them as I was walking to the restaurant in the hope to get the food started, but kept getting the impersonal answer message. I was not sure if I had the right number. Admittedly it was Saturday night and of course busy, totally full, but no floor staff, and only three people in the kitchen. One very flustered staff member was making food and constantly looking out of the kitchen at myself and the group of five who had just walked in who were also waiting. Along with the smell of raw sewage and waiting for over 10 min without the staff member really acknowledging that she would be with us as soon as she could, I could see they were not coping.I decided there were other places where I could be served and have my food faster, minus the smell. I know the industry, and maybe they were down someone that night. But it saddens me to see this place, a few years ago, busy with more staff and better organised, to this skeleton staff situation, and no delivery or way to get in touch I am wondering what is going on. I will give it another try, as I really loved the food. But now I am wondering if It will be ever back to its old self.

Visiting Sydney and staying in the Paddington area and wanting some asian cuisine found this place on the internet sounded good so off we went .On arrival greeted by male staff member friendly but busy even though only 7 other people there ,seems he did...everything except cook. The place looked tired I was offered a hard metal chair instead of a stool when I wanted something more comfortable . Ordered our meals for starters we had 2 serves of dumplings these were ok. Our mains were pad thai Average ,the other steamed fish and vegetables in broth ,Awful !,a piece of bony unidentified fish on a few bok choi leaves in a watery broth $23.00 . Asked for drinks nothing on on tap so got a can of cider and a bottle of beer ,no glasses . first and last visit

It was a very pleasant surprise. The service was nice and smooth. importantly, the food was great! We had sechuan chicken and green vegetables. The both were very tasty! We will def come back and try different dishes.
