Picked up our cake on Sat. morning and by the next day, it was stale. Threw most of it out. What a waste of money. Fortunately another member of the family had picked up a cake from Freshco.......days later, it was still edible.This would never have happened under the old ownership. So disappointed!AND..... they want payment when you order....REALLY!!!

If you are looking for cake supplies (decorating, ingredients) this is the place to go. If you want to buy a cake or wedding cake they are fantastic.

My family and friends have been ordering cakes from the Sugar Chalet for years now. Joey always helps us and makes great suggestions as to flavors and sizes depending on the size of our parties. Last night for example (January 7th), I threw my mother a surprise 60th birthday party that was taking place in Ajax. There were 50 guests coming. I had contacted Joey in advance to discuss cake options. I knew that not everyone was going to have cake, but I also wanted enough just in case. He suggested a small 3 tier cake (I wanted a tiered cake over a slab cake). I told him the flavors that I wanted for each tier and basically told him to choose the design - nothing too crazy. Just something nice for a woman turning 60. What we got (I didn't see the cake until I arrived at our venue that evening) was a masterpiece (see picture below). The cake was breathtaking. He even delivered it to my venue that afternoon as I was not comfortable transporting a tiered cake on my own. EVERYONE commented on how delicious the cake was. I had numerous guests ask for the contact info for the bakery. Not only do their cakes look amazing, THEY TASTE EVEN BETTER. I have never had cakes so fresh in my life. You can tell that they are made the day of and NEVER frozen. And this is consistent. Every time. My all time favourite combination is their raspberry cake, lemon buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing on the outside. To die for. I can't say enough great things about the Sugar Chalet. Once you taste one of their cakes, you'll never go anywhere else.

Any design and any flavour- Sugar Chalet will get it right!! My only suggestion is that service could be friendlier. No matter who takes my order they never seem very happy and I feel like I am bothering them by placing my order. But I return year after year as they are the best cakes around and always get it right which is what really matters.
