As I arrived, I noticed an elderly couple at a table; the woman was enjoying penne alfredo, while the man was chatting about his wife who was at home sick in bed. The owner made sure to engage with both of them, checking if the pasta was to the woman's liking and listening to the man’s story. He mentioned how he brought his wife some food to help cheer her up, and when their meals were served, the owner generously told him, "No worries, sweet. It’s on the house." She provided the couple with a complete Italian dinner without charging them a dime. At that moment, I realized I had to return to this place every chance I got. It’s important to support local businesses like this, especially those that genuinely care for their community. Plus, the owner seems to have a knack for reading customers' needs! I ordered the gnocchi but wasn’t quite sure what I wanted. She confidently said, “I’m going to guess,” and she nailed it!
Avoid this place—everything is overly salty and masked with other flavors. Your taste buds (and other aspects of your health) will thank you later!
The sandwich was fantastic, featuring a toasty bun that was still fresh despite it being the end of the day. The chicken had a great meat-to-bun ratio, topped with more than three generous slices of provolone cheese, a sprinkling of parmesan from a shaker, and an amazing sauce. The bun held together beautifully, never falling apart! The gnocchi was also homemade and paired with a delicious rose sauce that we couldn't get enough of. As for the side Caesar salad, it included real speck, homemade croutons, and a thick, rich dressing. The portion sizes were more than generous, and honestly, they could charge more for what they serve. We only wish this restaurant was closer to Pickering! Plus, there was plenty of street parking available. Ciao, amici!
Absolutely the best Italian food I've ever eaten. the owners were beautiful and super helpful with their recommendations for what to eat. tasty and delicious food, they can say that the pasta is always made fresh.
Such a fantastic place to visit and the lady owner is so pleasant all the time. You won’t find a bigger meat to bun ratio than here. The veal is extremely tender and the sauce is exceptional. 8.40 with .75 extra for each of cheese and peppers and mushrooms and onions. But seriously the sandwich doesn’t need the extras. Best part is there’s always half a veal cutlet left over for tomorrow — just need a crusty Calabrese bun and you are set. Never disappointed!
