Toucan Grill Fresh - Oriental

Chef Jeff prepares great dishes, just a little pricey. Atmosphere is nice and they have a nice bar area. Mostly bar crabs later in the evening which make eating a bit loud . An early dinner is certainly a treat in this village.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THE TOUCAN, I ALWAYS SIT AT THE BAR BARTENDERS APRIL CHELSEA ARE AMAZING VERY PERSONABLE. OUTDOOR SEATING IS NICE VIEW EVEN BETTER GREAT GATHERING AREA TO SIT BY WATER ENJOY THE TIKIBAR PERHAPS GET A ROOM TAKE A SWIM IN THE POOL. MY FAVORITE COCKTAIL THATS MADE TO PERFECTION IS THE MUDSLIDE, ANY OF THE MANY FOODS ON MENU IS ALWAYS GREAT, MY FAVORITE IS THE TOUCAN BURGER OR 1/2 LB OR LOCAL FRIED SHRIMP. FRIED TO PERFECTION BY THERE IN MY EYES FAMOUS FRY COOK. ALL THERE SAUCES ARE MADE IN HOUSE IVE NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE, UNLESS THERE CLOSED

Good food service. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. Big bowl of water for our dog. It was a very hot day the outside seating area needs some fans to move the air.

Quaint place located on the water. Local servers and everything was on point. Didn't have to ask twice, didn't have to wait. We liked it.

Not sure who was at Toucan Grill and had a bad experience, but I feel sorry for them. We ate here tonight despite the “negativity” thanks to a friend’s recommendation and found it to be a wonderful dinner of both tasty delights and sweet, Southern service. From the moment we sat down to paying the tab, it was wonderful. Great view and even greater food. We went thinking that worst case scenario would be that the service was slow (as complained by so many, but hey look at it as “island time” we’re not in any hurry, you know vacation mode), but the food would be stellar as touted by locals. We found the seafood to be some of the best we’ve ever had and the service to be fantastic. Every bite was cooked perfectly! No complaints from us in any way. Well, there are a lot of flies, but when dining outdoors… it comes with the territory. And they serve a lot of food! We will definitely return on our next trip to Oriental. And we will probably share a platter next time as the portions are huge. Four thumbs up from the two of us!
