Paperback Cafe - Old Saybrook

The waitstaff are nice, and the coffee OK, but our food was really terrible. My wife ordered a Rubin sandwich, which was meh...ok, but the fries that came with it were horrid maybe days old? I had a Protein Plate and the hamburger and chicken were both way over cooked and the sausage was...of questionable origin. I hate writing a bad review, but this may be the only way change can happen.

Excellent finding. Typical cafe but with kind of different menu. Good gluten free choice and good coffee, pancakes, etc Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pancakes and waffles

My wife and I had breakfast here one Saturday. We were drawn by the availability of paleo options on the menu. We got the paleo waffles with the Blueberry compote, a chicken sausage, and two eggs. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly. My wife also got a vanilla lavender hot chocolate that she really enjoyed. We plan to go back the next time we are in the Old Saybrook area.
