Mark's is a great option if you want delicious, fuss-free food with good service in a family-friendly atmosphere. We dine here regularly and really enjoy the meals every time. Highly recommended!
My sister and I go to Mark's for the ribs! Yummy yummy ribs. The price is decent and the staff are friendly. I've taken visiting relatives here before too. It's not a fancy place but it's a good alternative to a smelly pub. It's family friendly so sometimes it can get loud but if you sit at a table near the windows it's fine, can get hot in summer tho!
We've lunched at Mark's a few times as a family group ranging in age from 16yrs to 78yrs.Unfortunately lunch seems to be the busiest and loudest time to dine here. Lots of families eat at Mark's, especially large groups with very young children - which can be deafening at times. The food is good - won't knock your socks off but enjoyable nonetheless. We've tried the following dishes:*Tomato Bruschetta - very fresh and vibrant, excellent.*Mediterranean Arancini - nice, tasty combination of mushroom, sun-dried tomato, Spanish onion and mozzarella.*Caesar salad - wonderfully fresh and delicious. One of the best Caesar salads I've had.*Pork ribs - Nicely cooked. Sauce was ok.*Margarita Pizza - lovely, fresh vegetarian pizza*Mexican Pizza - this was fantastic - jalepenos were great*Calamari - light and delicious. This is what salt and pepper calamari should taste like.*Garlic Prawns - well cooked prawns. Garlic prawns done well.*Smoked Salmon Croquette - just ok, nothing outstanding.*Rosewater Pannacotta - nice and smooth.*Banana Split - a personal favourite however, it's a simple dish that's assembled, not cooked.*Mixed Seafood (entree) - Lightly fried mix of prawns, calamari and baby octopus. Tastes as expected. Nothing to rave about.*Fish & Chips - this is a good dish.*Jug of cucumber punch - WOW what a delicious, refreshing drink. We absolutely loved it. Would like to try it with mineral water instead of lemonade as we don't usually drink soft drinks. But great for a treat. The service is good overall. We appreciate times get busy and its hard to get the attention of a waitress, however one time on arrival a waitress saw us enter but didn't bother greeting or seating us - we guessed it wasn't her job, so she stood to the side and just stared at us and waited until what seemed like the head waitress, take care of us. Bit unprofessional but she was young and maybe new?Probably wouldn't return if it were my decision but if we did have to go back I would like to try Marks for dinner - perhaps the noise level is not so annoying or maybe lunch on another day other than a Sunday?
We tried Mark's when it first opened. The food was average. We decided it wasn't worth going back. As the years passed, we noticed it was getting pretty popular in the evenings during the weekends. We figured maybe the food had improved. Gave it another go and it was the same. Average. Not too sure why it's so popular? Perhaps it's the BYO and the place is big enough for large parties.
