The Star - Oakland

The best deep dish pizza around, hands down. The cornmeal crust is cooked perfectly slightly crispy on the outside and a little soft on the inside. We’ve been here many, many times, yet the pizza seemed even better than usual this time. Fantastic!

One of our favorites. Friendly staff, good pizza and cocktails are good too. Perfect for after the movie at the Grand Lake.

Delicious detroit style pizza. The small is more than enough for 1. The large I split with another person and still had 2 days worth of leftovers.

The food here is consistently good and we order much of it to take home. We had cauliflower, a mixed salad, wings, garlic bread and two pizzas. I always give it a 4, but remember that it's a pizza place; it's not the same as a 4 at a Michelin restaurant. Service is almost always superb.

We went to Star following our son’s 8th grade graduation because they have great pizza and specifically great gluten free pizza as well! Also delicious salads and meatball appetizer. Virginia was our wonderful server, super friendly and attentive.
