Englanders - Oakland

The breakfast at this restaurant was amazing, with large portions. There were seven of us and we all ordered different dishes, all of which were delicious. Despite being from the city, the servers were very friendly. One tip: the restaurant is located in the rear of the building, similar to a Cracker Barrel. Customers order and are served at their table, but pay at the register in the back like at a Waffle House.

The service and food were both excellent. The restaurant has a cozy, old-fashioned diner atmosphere with a small town charm.

Had an excellent lunch, service was great, food was great and the prices are exceptionally low compared to similar breakfast and lunch places.

We shared the buckwheat pancakes out of curiosity. They were delicious; a little sweet/nutty flavor and nicely done. The coffee is best avoided, but the service is top notch. For fun, we tried the Chocolate espresso milkshake. Fabulous**simply fabulous. It's an old-fashioned icecream treat with real icecream and real milk. I dare you to try and finish it by yourself in one sitting.

Great experience for our kids as you just don’t find places like this in the world today! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal and the milk shakes and carrot cake for an after meal treat. Service was friendly and attentive despite the crowd. Definitely will be back again when we visit the area in the future.
