The manager of this place was willing to work with us to bring our big family together in a central location that was the first step to make possible today. We came and were greeted with smiles and very friendly staff. We sat immediately, and our server Sam greeted us and took beverage orders. I have to say that Sam was the perfect host during our visit. We kept him on his toes with beverage refills, extra dressing and the typical requirements that make customers. Sam took it all in trouble and did a fantastic job today! He even took pictures so we could all be in them. The food, the whole food, was amazing!! We will be back and will recommend this special restaurant to anyone we know. Thank you!
Calhoun is consistent. I've eaten in different places over the years. You know how to do bbq. The bacon-wound burners were delicate and tasty. Get them from an appetizer. I had the ****. It was tender and delicious. BONUS This Calhoun also had a look at the Great Lake!
Good food and a beautiful location. Closes at 9, such a little early bar, but also great drinks. I enjoyed the chicken and they even bought me a Sunday for dessert! I'm sure we'll go back and check it out if it's easier on the lake.
From the moment we went through the door, we felt comfortable and welcome. I had a nice salad, my husband had a burger. They were both delish. Our waiter was very polite and very professional. We ate outside on a covered deck and protect ourselves from the hot sun, and our view was simply amazing! It was a great motorcycle destination for us, and we look forward to returning.
Beautiful views, terrible service. I've been to this location twice, several months apart (several others in the area as well) and the service just wasn't service. Yes they did their job but I've experienced friendlier greetings and help at funerals. This visit we received finger food with no napkins and our server never checked on us so we ate it and asked for napkins once we saw him again, after we had finished. The banana pudding, while it was nice with a twist of macadamia nuts, it just wasn't what banana pudding in the south is known for. The listing was a different texture, almost custard like, half of it was cream whipped topping and I rarely discovered a banana. And I love me some banana pudding. Calhoun's is a fav and we'll continue to eat there, just not this location, or, we'll know what to expect. Other locations have been incredibly friendly.
