The perfect place to visit after they have seen a movie in palast. vegan food and wein are marked on the menu. they can choose tofu, veg or mock meats huh, bark or duck. also vegan dim sum yum! high recommended for the vegan lemongras huhn, green curry and yakitori vegan bark. but all curries are great to be honest. before the covid they thank them for ordering vegan discount cards, where, if they have visited enough, they receive discounts/free eating. but I don't know if they're still doing this right now, right at the 86 tram stop and only 5 minutes walk from the train station westgarth.

Taxiboat is a pleasant restaurant with decent food, ambiance and service however could not be considered a fine dining experience. I found it annoying even though some reviews indicated Taxiboat allowed the option of byo wine with reasonable corkage that this proved to be incorrect...when I recently attended in August 2019. A fair assessment is that Taxiboat is middle of the road but not allowing byo wine smacks of the owners wanting to maximise profits above the standing of the restaurant.

As I walked along High street I was amazed at the eclectic array of establishments in the area. On arrival I was greeted by pleasant staff and warm neat simple decor. Menu was simple to read with many great options. Our group chose curry puffs,...spring rolls then for mains we had salt and pepper squid, prawn red curry, a great beef dish accompanied by wonderful coconut rice. Wine menu was also a great mix of culture and from many locations. The red we had was fruity and great on the pallet. Overall a great time was had and the food was wonderful. Definitely a place to return to ... great food and wine ... What more do you need on a cold Melbourne night.

Eating and the atmosphere here. large menu good prices . friendly and attentive staff. that was also a reasonable price. very recommended for a great night.

Warmly welcome to this relaxing oasis of the east-west I was looking forward to a new experience. unfamiliar with the menu, I made kim (owners) to order, consult I was moderately hungry. a tapas entree selection was suggested by chicken san choy...Pao, early roll, curry puffs the Mongolian lamb ribs of the chef ... who were tasty with the right balance of the aromen. I was thrilled by the pandan pana cotta subtle, silky and embellished with not too sweet flaked mand dried rose petals a first for me. a delicious before east west. thinnest was good with aperol splash soda, limette bitter quenched. there is an inviting ambiente with rich splashes of red dark forests that lead to an outside area at the back of the area. service was attentive and friendly. a rich relaxing experience ....... is looking forward to the exploration of more taxiboots tasty offered in the not too far future. worth a visit.
