Gringo Vibes Mexican Cantina

A very good quick food style Mexican restaurant I had the fish tacos and they were excellent.

Despite the dreadful name, Gringo Vibes is a decent little Tex-Mex-style Mexican joint.

We have been to quite a few Mexican restaurants throughout our home city of Melbourne and the United States.

Best Mexican in the northern suburbs for sure! I can never decide what to order but it usually includes pulled beef. They also have a great range of cocktails and tequila drinks on offer.

So the food here is good, but service is really poor. We dined early at 6PM because we had plans at 8PM, so the restaurant was empty when we arrived. We were required to order everything from the bar instead of table service, which was not the end of the world, but a bit strange considering you pay at the end of your meal anyway.We chose seating in the outdoor area and were by ourselves until two staff members sat on the table behind us. They proceeded to eat their McDonalds meals and talk about nangs before LIGHTING UP THEIR CIGARETTES. I don't care if it was a smoking area or not, these were kitchen staff smoking next to customers eating a meal. So gross.The staff seem really bored and detached, nobody cracked a smile while we were there. We arrived in a great mood but left disappointed after an hour. Such a shame because the food itself is good.
