Starbucks - Norfolk

It's Starbucks! Quality is up to par. They have a strange drive-thru situation that starts behind the shopping plaza.

This location as with many others, can see quite a bit of business causing the drive thru line to get backed up. With that being said, I never choose to avoid the line because this location and it?s staff does an exceptional job of keeping the wait times acceptable despite the congestion of orders. I cannot say the same for other locations. The baristas are always, always working hard and it?s evident when you?re there. Kyle was at the window today and was friendly and professional, consistent with any other barista I?ve encountered at this location. Pretty glad this is my local shop.

Every time I order a caramel macchiato here, it seems like they just use the pre-brewed coffee, add a shot of espresso, and throw in some caramel. It doesn't feel like a genuine caramel macchiato, and to top it off, they charge me $7.48, while most other places offer it for $7.19.

Worst Starbucks ever. Drinks are consistently made wrong compared to the surrounding locations. This location is literally like 2 minutes from my house so I gave it chance after chance, just to be let down constantly. They are missing liquid 1-2 inches from the rim. The drinks usually are made incorrectly. Like you have raised the prices 3x in the past year but yet want to skimp and half a.. make my drink. It?s frustrating! I just now avoid this location at all costs. I now go out of my way and go to West Little Creek usually. East Beach is pretty consistent as well. Too much volume at this location and not enough well-trained employees I?m assuming. Management must be lacking as well. It is a very busy store compared to any of the other locations, so I?m sure it gets overwhelming. Also the ?manager? Joye yelled at my 77 year elderly father and was unnecessarily rude for requesting his drip coffee because the young lady up front was right by it not even doing anything or tending to any guests at all. He was agitated, but never disrespected her. Just inquired as to why it had been almost 15 minutes of waiting for some premade coffee. Why should a DRIP coffee wait as long as a hand crafted beverage?!? Also my breakfast sandwich presentation was disgusting. It was flopped in a bag and half squished..once again paying almost 6 for a sausage egg and cheese muffin and it wasn?t even put together in the bag. Even McDonald?s which I detest presents their breakfast sandwiches better than that. I love Starbucks, just not this location.

Morning coffee ritual that I will soon have to change. This spot is always on point with my grande extra hot white chocolate mocha.
