Mp Island Cafe - Norfolk

Do not visit this restaurant! At first, I was greeted rudely by one of the male staff members, who walked past me holding a pot without even acknowledging me. He looked at me as if I had personally wronged him, and I did not appreciate it. The girl who took my order did not do so properly, and the cashier was also very rude to me. The food was not even that great, and when I asked for plantains, they did not have any. How can a Caribbean restaurant not have plantains to serve? I should have just gone to Island Jerk Hut in Chesapeake. The food was subpar and the customer service was terrible. I will never go back to this restaurant and wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy. It was a complete disaster!

The service at this restaurant is exceptional and the food is good, comparable to what I have experienced in the Caribbean. The prices are also exceptional, especially considering the quality of the food. They also have great lunch offers available.

I didn't visit this restaurant recently, but I tried the macaroni and cheese and kale now. It seems that this restaurant has gained popularity, so expect long lines during lunchtime. The macaroni and cheese was decent, as was the cauliflower. I recall having a great meal here a few years ago, but this time it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Jerked huh is really good. the sauce is sharp. stewedes huh is also very tasty. cornbread is beautiful. this place has good food. must be true. great outside their comfort zone.

They would go much faster if they get that old man off the register. need someone that can multi task at that spot. y am i waiting 30 minutes for food thats cooked already
