I ordered the meatloaf dinner with collard greens and green beans. the food was delicious! the meat leaf was full of fleshy taste and was covered with rich tasting brown gravy and wobble. I was disappointed because they were from many of the foods I wanted to taste, which I really think test the quality of soul food cooking like yams, müll and cornbread. the decor is not present and most people order anyway to go. my brother ordered a fish sandwich and pommes. the fish came on two slices of white bread and the fries are the typical frozen sorts. he wasn't impressed. my desert was the only one they had prepared, strawberry cake, although there was more on the menu. every bite was...read more

Great lunch! to lunch 04/3. I can only say that this was the first time of many! the food was outstanding! I'm part of tossing pork chops and they were some of the best I had! my coworker had the fish sandwich lunch combo and there was also high praise. the ladies there were very friendly and appreciated our business. we will certainly be back, and will all who will hear that it is the place for seafood in norfolk!

Amazing. Me and my girlfriend are from south Louisiana. Food is of utmost importance to us down there. Since moving up here we have been searching for good plate lunch food. And we have now found it. Simple meals, with simple sides, quick, but perfect. It's a tad off putting walking inside, there is no decor to speak of, and not really a place you eat at, but that's the types of places you get the best food at back home. And here is no exception. Don't let that sway you though. The very best food I've had since I've lived here. We will be going back weekly.

Excellent Food! REAL DOWN HOME COOKING. I went to Carlos Homecooking to get lunch for myself, boyfriend, and co-workers. I ordered the pork chops, my bf the turkey wings, and my co-workers the ribs. When I tell you I felt like I was sitting in my grandma's kitchen, it was unbelievable good! They definitely have a repeat customer in me! If you're looking for real southern cooking, greasy spoon, make you wanna slap somebody good eating, then you gotta get yourself over to Carlos' Homecooking!

I ordered grotten 2 eier a speck came up to 8 that was good, but my egg seemed like a patched down to see like two that was terrible, one I got 2 small rests of speck his despite not worth her money, I ordered breakfast one got a snack never again
