Captain D's - Norfolk

I have visited this restaurant a few times. The food is excellent, especially the seafood dishes. The service is efficient. However, it seems like the restaurant chain is not as popular as it used to be.

I ordered $43 worth of food from a restaurant on DoorDash, including 2 fish and 6 shrimp with coleslaw and fries. Unfortunately, I did not receive my six shrimp, but they did give me an extra order of fries. The fries were inedible, the tartar sauce was lacking in flavor, and the coleslaw tasted old. When I called to inquire about my missing shrimp, I was met with rudeness from the person who answered the phone. They told me I had to come to the restaurant to address the issue, which I found unprofessional. I ended up throwing away the entire meal and only ate the two fish. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food I received, especially considering the high price I paid. Overall, it was an unacceptable experience and I would not recommend eating here.

First and foremost, I must mention that this restaurant is located in a rather inconvenient spot. It was quite challenging to locate, almost as if I were searching for a hidden treasure. Additionally, the food was not particularly outstanding. The fried fish was decent, the jumbo shrimp was average, and the macaroni and cheese tasted like cheap instant mac from a box. This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I have a feeling it may be my last. Captain D's seems more like a quick pitstop during a road trip rather than a destination for a planned sit-down meal.

I had a great experience at the place of captain d. we were greeted with a hallo as soon as we went through the door the young lady who was in the cash register was very polite that they completed our order with great precision. I was with my mother and my aunt and one of the staff came out of the kitchen to help us bring our food to our car. that was an excellent customer service. our food was hot and good

Staff are friendly and food is delicious. They came and checked in on us to make sure we liked the food which is impressive for a fast food place. My boys love Captain D's, we always leave happy and full.
