Le Shanghai - Nice

Came in wanting some really good Chinese food and we weren’t disappointed! The portions were very decent, I ordered the €18 menu and the food was fantastic, tasted fresh and left me with a full belly. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and they made the whole experience very pleasant.

We were a group of 6 from malaysia and singapore. Before entering, we asked what was good and the lady boss told us everything was good and therefore trusted her. Fast forward to the meal. There are 2 sizes for the dishes which were small and large. We had 3 large and 2 small which were almost the same size. Small was EXTREMELY small while big was slightly bigger. It was extremely overpriced because a plate of fried vegetables costed 15Euros, tofu costed 19Euros, pork ribs costed 19Euros which were extremely small, a small bowl of rice costed 1.50Euros and I can't remember what the rest were because the food was really bad. Paying this price for a big portion of food that tasted good wouldn't be a problem. However the biggest problem was the food tasted awful. I really do not mean to destroy their reputation but we really felt that we shouldn't be offered such bad food. The one plus point is that the lady boss is chinese and was friendly to us.

Just back from our first meal in Nice tonight. We called in here after reading the mainly positive reviews on TA. I really was disappointed with the food. Very flavourless and bland. The main course fit onto a dessert plate and was very unimpressive. The service was good and friendly. A husband and wife duo took on the front of house duties whilst the children obviously stayed in the kitchen. Perhaps better food if the old hand took over the kitchen. My recommendation is to keep walking.

Nems, spring rolls, soup and rice prepared minute. (vegetarian exposure). Nems excellent as well as rice. Unlike a notice read, the price of drinks is not excessive. I'd be happy to return to Nice next time.

Excellent small typical Chinese restaurant. The dishes are excellent and affordable. We will return to the place or for the sale to be carried with great pleasure!
