This includes French creole cuisine , Indian cuisine without the oiliness/heaviness that sometimes accompanies it, and French cooking. In essence a blend of some of the best cuisines in the world. Its menu is therefore varied but not overpowering. I went there twice. I recommend the fish dishes (I had a delicious Rougail Poissons i.e. Fish with tomato sauce), and the entrees /starters are wonderful. You must try the Gateaux Piments (the English translation "Chili and Vegetable cakes" does not do justice to the rich flavour and tastefulness of this wonderful starter. And for British and Europeans who like black pudding (Americans rarely do), the Saint Geran's Black Pudding with apple cider sauce is a treat. The ones I have eaten in Britain and Germany are mediocre by comparison. Based on the dishes I have eaten , I would venture to speculate that their other dishes are delicious as well. The service is attentive. This is not a richly decorated restaurant with fancy chairs and curtains: the focus is on the food and service. The atmosphere is low-key, with island music alternating with soft Indian music.
Excellent and original menu, excellent service, friendly environment, exotic drinks and different kocktail and nice dessert
Dinner at Saint Geran was the best during our 5 day trip in Nice. Service was warm and personal, and food delicious. Dishes were explained when served and hot sauces warned about. Children's menu was a set of different typical Mauritius dishes, our children loved their meals and emptied their plates! (Most other restaurants in Nice are stuck to hamburger beef and fries as option for kid's.) Patron also offered house made digestives (rum spiced with fruit or very hot chili) at the end of meal. The restaurant is certainly worth walking few blocks away from main streets.
I think 'Le Saint Geran ' is simply paradise! Great atmosphere, kind owner and staff, delicious food, I enjoyed every single minute in this place (and obviously every single bite too :D). If you want to get the full Creole experience, this is the place to be!
Very good restaurant welcome to taste pleasures. The possibility of dose or even chili is another for all. What a pleasure to have the assortment of 10 pieces with cakes and other discoveries. The well-filled and very good child menu. A feast I advise and come back
