We made a booking a week in advance for Valentines Day. We wanted to try something new and after seeing the menu online we thought we would give it a go. When we arrived, we told the woman we had a booking and she started our order for takeaway. Eventually we got sat at a table. We ordered some Nepalese beers that were really good, and eventually had another round. The problem here was the amount of staff. We had to stop the same girl several times to order, ask for water, etc. We felt so bad for her because with the 20 tables in the restaurant she could only do so much. We finally ordered and the wait began. The couple next to us had extreme patience and had asked for things several times with no help. We ended up receiving garlic naan bread and my partners dish, which was goat. We wanted to try something different. The food was amazing. Both of us agreed everything we ate was really good. Our booking was at 7pm. By the time 8:45pm rolled around and my dish and appetiser had yet to appear, we gave up. We walked up to the counter to pay for the food we did receive and to thank the one girl walking around working like crazy. We even gave her extra cash because we felt so bad for her struggles. They needed more staff especially for a holiday! The other girls working just stood behind the counter and watched this young girl struggle! I was really looking forward to the food I ordered considering the other food we got was so good, it just ruined the date because I left without even receiving a Valentines Day meal! My partner felt horrible, and the experience overall was a let down. We decided we may try again when it isn't a busy day, or try and get takeaway.
Loved this Nepalese / Indian restaurant. Tried her Masala dosa and reminded me at home! I do not think I can give an Indian restaurant a better compliment :) Value for money
A breath of fresh air in a suburb of thai, Japanese and Australian cuisine, but the prices are a bit nice. The food is not bad, aramul and essential; However, it is even vegetarian to eat, but does not appear with respect to macronutrients and micronutrients, which can be balanced with respect to macronutrients and micronutrients and may be quite salty. Grief The food was slowly on, but sure what was about a topic in this restaurant in this restaurant. The staff is slow, but safely arrived, as long as we could actually attract their attention. For this reason, it is unlikely that we do not revisit the Sherpa kitchen, and would not encourage others to visit if they do not want to wait for an EON to be sitting to order, be served and the invoice pay; If you want a quick meal, Newtown is with other, even resident fast food options. Grief Everything that was said would recommend to give this Nepalese rarity an attempt to say just to say here. Of course, your mileage can vary, and you could be this (despite the service).
4 of us went to this restaurant on a voucher so got to try a lot of dishes and I would say all were of a high standard. The momos are good as was the chicken sekuwa. Am not usually one for too much vegetarian but the pakoda was nice and not oily at all, and to finish the entrees we had an ordinary sounding dish called potato chop which was delicious. Loved the dosai. For main we had palak paneer (not my fave but nice enough), veggie korma - tasty, butter chicken - also tasty and the stand out being the goat. Nicest goat curry I've had with good tender meat and taste. Service was great but there were not a lot of customers and our girl was helpful with suggestions. Would like to go back and try other dishes also. This is a good place for people that don't like too spicy a meal and the ones that want some flavour.
