I strongly propose to stop and have a closer look. first. eating is delicious and very cheap. the place is run by some brothers serving a variety of traditional Turkish/Middle eastern dishes. my own favorite from a recent meal were the Lamb-Sish plate and 'dad's special 'pide. so good. also do byo without cork charge. can't wait to come back.
For many years, when I was in sydney, I would always be after istanbul at the king for a Turkish pide, but the place closed in 2019. on a last trip to sydney (my first since covid) I discovered saray. they did a great spinach pie, full of taste and texture and a hot soothing Turkish apple. the service was careful and the prices appropriate in comparison to other Turkish locations. I found a new home in newtown.
Children who had not experienced before and had pide and kebab, turkist coffee. delicious food, all young stuffed
The mixed grill 5 stars. great dives, more wonderful rice, melts in mouth and lamb and huh. the beautiful staff made us a mixed grill for three, and we ordered a few falafels. the falafel was sadly simple and dry, but five stars cause the...rest was wonderful
Saray has been our Favorite place since my first visit to Sydney in 2014 . I must say they have a lot of Vegetarian options and as well the food has been consistently great . Spinach&leek Pide is a winner and they are open late...as well which is cherry on the top . Great option for Vegetarians . And if you have a sweet tooth, do not miss the Baklava.
