Nefeli - Newtown

Now this was a great find! New to Newtown but a little place that is not new to the industry.

Fabulous food, great value and very friendly local staff. I would definitely recommend. The Greek feast is amazing.

A wonderful new place in NewtownThis is the second one of these restaurants (the first one is in Mascot and is hugely popular).

Another lazy evening in and couldn't be bothered cooking so ordered through Foodora. They were supporting Oz Harvest via their Meal For A Meal program where you can make a small donation. Delivery was pretty quick too. I scrolled through the list of restaurants and stopped at this one as hadn't tried and looked pretty good. I ordered an Arni Souvlaki which had lamb souvlaki with salad, pita, tzatziki, and chips. All tasted really good together but quibble with the chips being in the box as the lamb and pita, it was a bit soggy. Wished they packaged it separately so it didn't go soft. Noticed that I also didn't receive the 2 free baklava varieties under their special deal tab when ordering a main meal which I had done.

Love the decor of this place, a super cosy Mediterranean vibe, and quite a large dining space. Here's what we feasted on: Zucchini flowers - deep fried in more of a fish n chip batter as opposed to traditional tempura so wasn't a huge fan. But the filling was creamy and nice. Dolamades - classic, tasty and served with tzatiki to dip. Haloumi - perfection! Big chunky pieces and seasoned to perfection! Nefeli chicken - gorgeous roast chicken stuffed with feta, served on a bed of mash in a gorgeous creamy sauce. My fave dish of the night! Chicken souvlaki - gorgeous meat served with pita, salad and fries. That pita so on point! Amazing service such friendly people run this place! They looked after us so well, and we had a lovely night!
