Had two slices of bruschetta and a chai latte this morning (they added the chai for only $2.5 extra - great bonus). The bruschetta was delicious and the chai was perfect; not too sweet and without the top being too 'foamy' either. The place is clean, and relaxing - great to study (always a bonus!). The kitchen is next to the seating area but it's not loud like many other cafes. (Edit: second trip back - it was very noisy!) Do recommend! Prices are also quite reasonable! Please bring out more vegan options without the honey! I will be back more often when that happens :) Second trip back - had the veggie wrap again and it was delicious!! The first time I tried it, it was terrible and didn't seem fresh but this time it was 100x better!
Fast & quick service. wasn't feeling too well that morning so i didn't love the food but it was still really good. i would have loved it so much if i wasn't feeling sick.
Situated in the heart of Newtown’s busy King Street, Get Fresh is a new addition to the suburb’s café scene offering the usual selection of sandwiches, wraps, smoothies and brekkie options. Nothing entices me into a café quite like the now familiar promotional sign for Sydney’s berry du jour, Acai. I already knew that at least part of my order take care of itself. To get my Brazilian berry fix I plumped for the Acai smoothie ($11.50) in which the eponymous berry is blended with banana and watermelon juice. The result is a thick, sweet treat with hints of the watermelon underpinning the familiar Acai flavour. I accompanied the smoothie with a well-known sandwich. The combination of turkey, Swiss cheese and cranberry sauce is a classic and the Get Fresh version served on toasted wholemeal bread ($10.90) was delivered well – creamy, sweet and savoury all at the same time as you would expect. Get Fresh have a glass counter at the front of the café housing a number of sweeter options and, on recommendation from the server, I opted for the raspberry cheesecake. Most striking about the dessert was the fact that the base was made of muesli-type ingredients which is certainly a unique twist. The cheesecake itself demonstrated the normal rich characteristics. Getting the basics right is important and it seems Get Fresh are certainly on the right track. Worth a visit, particularly if, like myself, you are something of an Acai fiend. thernbdiary.com
