Dear Cafe - Newtown

Had a f**king slug in my noodle soup!! I initially thought it was an octopus tentacle while it was supposed to chicken soup. I looked closer and found this little purplish thing to be a slug. Apparently they don't wash their vegetables. Forgot to take a photo before the manager took it back to kitchen. Then the chef came out, apologized and refunded my money. But I am still very pissed. I used to be a regular customer of this restaurant but haven't visited for a while. I came in today to find that it under new management and its food price increased at lot. And more shockingly, a slug in the chicken noodle soup.

Agree with all the positive reviews. This place is a great little find on the northern end of King street. It's best for take aways. Prices are moderate ($25-30 for 2), but the food is very authentic and fresh.  This place is a regular for mid-week dinner take aways and the best Viet restaurant in Newtown area.

Best Vietnamese in Newtown. Hard to go past the pho and vermicelli salad, both fresh and crispy with great flavour. Lovely staff and quick service. A great find.

Another one of those great little family run operations. A nice room fit out with Daughter and Pa running service, Ma in the kitchen making some pretty tasty food. Bún Bò Hūe is delicious. The menu seems to be on the slightly pricey side.

Been here a number of times and the vegetarian food is always very fresh with a wide variety of options. Some of the nicest staff of that area of Newtown, and they're always willing to accommodate special requests.
