Crab Shack On The James - Newport News

I received a recommendation for this restaurant as a moderately priced seafood spot, and I enjoyed my visit. I ordered the Grilled Seafood Platter along with a beer and chose to sit on the patio. It does get a bit bright as the sun sets, but the view is quite lovely. The service was outstanding, and the dinner was delicious.

I had the calamari, seafood platter with baked potato I personally didn’t like anything we ordered. I did enjoy the peach cheesecake it was the best thing we ordered. The drinks were amazing! So I recommend this place for the dessert and drinks!

We enjoyed a late lunch by the water with my husband, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The seafood was fresh and lightly breaded, exactly how we prefer it. Our new waitress was incredibly sweet and did an outstanding job—she was very attentive and ensured everything was just right. The drinks were amazing as well. The view from the restaurant is simply stunning. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was outstanding! The crab legs were incredibly fresh and among the best I’ve tried in this area. They also offered Cobia on the menu, which was delicious. To top it off, we had an unexpected surprise—a large pod of dolphins appeared right on the James! The photos I took really don’t capture how fantastic the experience was, but I tried my best!
